Manage uploads and storage

Check how much storage your Workspace uses, which files you can upload, and how to free up space by deleting local copies you no longer need.

Updated September 30, 2026

Videos and images you upload or create in NOWScale are stored in the Workspace where you created them, and they count toward that Workspace's storage limit.

Check your storage

  1. Open Settings from your account menu.
  2. Under Workspace, select Storage.

You will see how much space is used out of your limit, or No storage limit, with a breakdown for Videos and Images. Storage includes post videos, post images, thumbnails, images generated or uploaded as references in Image Studio, and your profile image.

In a Personal Workspace, only the owner can see Storage. In a Business Workspace, owners, admins and billing managers can.

File requirements

FileAccepted formatsMaximum size
Post videoFormats YouTube supports, such as MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI and MPEG5 GB, or less if your plan sets a lower limit
Post imageJPEG, PNG8 MB
ThumbnailJPEG, PNG, WebP2 MB
Image Studio reference imageJPEG, PNG, WebP8 MB
Profile imageJPEG, PNG, WebP2 MB

Platforms can be stricter when you schedule a post. Instagram photos must be JPEG, Facebook images must be 4 MB or smaller, and YouTube does not accept photo posts.

If an upload fails with This upload would exceed your plan's storage limit. or This video is larger than your plan allows., free up space or compare plans from Billing.

Free up space

  1. In Storage, select Manage storage.
  2. Filter by All, Videos or Images, and sort by Largest first or Newest first.
  3. Select the items you no longer need, then select Delete selected. For a single item, select Delete local copy.
  4. Confirm with Delete.

The space becomes available once deletion finishes.

Deleting a local copy cannot be undone. Content you already posted stays on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or Facebook and is not deleted there.

Some items cannot be deleted from Storage right away:

  • A file used by a post that is still in progress must be managed from that post first.
  • For a post that was only partly published, deleting the file stops any retries that still need it.
  • If a saved blueprint or character profile uses a reference photo, the design stays but you must replace the missing photo before generating again.

How long files are kept

NOWScale does not delete stored files because of their age or because your plan changes. Files stay until someone with access to Storage deletes them. If your usage is above your limit, for example after a plan change, new uploads are blocked until you free up space.

If you see This video was cleaned up and can't be sent to new channels., the local copy was removed. Upload the video again to post it somewhere new.

Support can check the saved status of your uploads and posts. Support cannot delete files for you, raise your storage limit or skip upload checks.
