Manage your plan, Tokens and billing
Learn how plans and Tokens work, how to buy Tokens or turn on auto-reload, and where to review your usage, invoices and charges.
Updated September 30, 2026
Your plan and your Tokens are separate. Your plan includes a Token allowance and plan features, and purchased Tokens let you keep using paid actions after that allowance runs out. Each Workspace has its own plan, balance and billing history, so Personal and Business Workspaces never share Tokens.
Where to find billing
Open Settings from your account menu. Under Plan you will find:
- Billing: your current plan, renewal date, payment methods and Recent invoices.
- Usage: your Token allowance, purchased balance, auto-reload and the Activity list.
In a Personal Workspace, only the owner can see these sections. In a Business Workspace, owners, admins and billing managers can manage billing.
How Tokens are spent
Actions that cost Tokens show the cost in a Confirm token use dialog before they run. When the cost shows as "Up to" a number, that amount is reserved while the action runs and any unused Tokens are released afterwards.
Tokens are used in this order:
- The allowance included in your plan.
- Any Tokens granted to you by NOWScale.
- Purchased Tokens, only when Use Extra Usage is turned on.
To compare plans and their current allowances, select Upgrade plan or Manage plan in Billing.
Buy Tokens
Buying Tokens requires an active paid plan. $1 USD buys 100 Tokens, and purchased Tokens never expire.
- Open Settings and select Usage.
- Select Add Tokens.
- Pick an amount under Choose an amount, or select Other.
- Select Continue to secure checkout and complete the payment.
Tax is calculated at checkout and added to the price. Paying in another currency does not change the number of Tokens you receive. To cap spending, use Adjust limit under Extra Usage spending limit. The limit resets with each Token cycle.
Set up auto-reload
Auto-reload needs a saved card and Use Extra Usage turned on.
- In Usage, find Auto-reload and select Configure.
- Set Reload below, Purchase subtotal (USD) and Purchase limit including tax (USD).
- Review the authorization and select Save auto-reload.
Auto-reload charges in USD, plus tax. All charges, including tax, count toward your purchase limit for the Token cycle. You can turn it off at any time.
Review a charge
| Where | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Billing > Recent invoices | Invoices and receipts for your payments, with PDF downloads. Select View all invoices for the full list |
| Usage > Activity | Each Token use, purchase, grant, adjustment, refund and reversal |
In Activity, Reserved means an action is still running, Settled means it is final, and Released means the Tokens were returned. Past charges always keep the price and terms that applied when you accepted them.
Get help
Support can explain a charge using your billing records. Refunds, payment disputes and account changes are handled by NOWScale staff. A refund for purchased Tokens can only cover Tokens you have not used and is based on the original payment. Open a ticket with the topic Payments and billing. If a payment dispute is open, it appears under Invoices and receipts, where you can select Contact support to add context.
