Create and edit images in Image Studio

Generate images from a description, guide them with styles and reference images, edit them with AI tools and Blueprints, and understand Token charges.

Updated September 30, 2026

Image Studio creates images from a written description and lets you edit them with AI tools. Use it for thumbnails, covers and social posts. Open Image Studio from the sidebar.

Create an image

  1. In Describe your image, write what the image should show: the subject, the setting and any text that must appear.
  2. Optional: pick a Visual style, such as Photorealistic, Cartoon or 3D render. Automatic follows your description.
  3. Optional: click Choose images to add reference images (JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 8 MB) of people, products or a composition. References stay private and count toward your storage. Explore thumbnails from your niche adds a thumbnail as a style reference.
  4. Open Options to set Aspect ratio, Resolution, Quality, Background and the number of Images. When shown, Improve prompt refines your description first and Fast Mode generates faster.
  5. Check the Token price, then click Generate.

Finished images are saved to your library. Use All images, Favorites and the filters to find them later.

Work with a result

Select an image to open its details. From there you can Edit image, Use as reference, Copy image, download it as PNG (full quality) or JPEG (smaller file), or mark it as a favorite. Refine uses a result to guide a new generation.

Edit tools

ToolWhat it does
UpscaleIncreases resolution while keeping the framing and style
Edit textReplaces text in the image
Remove backgroundKeeps the subject on a transparent background
EnhancerImproves detail, color or cleanup with a preset
AnglesCreates a new viewing angle
RelightChanges light direction, brightness and color
Expand & CropCrops for free, or adds space and fills it with AI
Regional edit / Lasso editChanges only the area you select

The editor also has a brush, eraser, shapes, text and layers. AI edits create a new layer and keep the original. Click Save composition to save your edits. Saving requires a plan with storage for the Workspace.

Blueprints

If you see Blueprint in the prompt panel, you can sketch the layout before generating. Place characters, objects, text, arrows and highlights on a canvas, click Apply blueprint, then describe the final image. A saved Blueprint is a reusable layout inside your current Project, not a Workspace Project. Exact fonts are not guaranteed.

Tokens and status

  • The price appears before you generate. An "up to" price is the maximum reserved.
  • You are charged for delivered images. If an image cannot be generated, you are not charged, and unused reserved Tokens are returned.
  • In Edit text, detecting existing text is optional and billed by usage, up to the price shown. The edit itself is charged separately.
  • If a result is still being checked, your Tokens stay reserved. Wait for the result instead of starting the same request again.
To use an image as a YouTube thumbnail, open the video's Edit tab and click Generate with AI to open Image Studio in a new tab. When the image is ready, click Change thumbnail and choose Use from your library. Reusing a saved image does not cost Tokens.
